On a radiant winter day at JinShang·Yuan in Beijing, an Education Forum themed “Inclusive Learning & Cross-Regional Partnership” culminated in a remarkable convergence of wisdom. Insights met, consensus crystallized, and diverse cultural voices harmonized into a symphony of ideas.

I. Differences Are Not Divides, But the Light of Unique Traits

Ms. Diane Hennebert, Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Europe-Asia Center, illustrated the role of cultural heritage as a vessel for multicultural coexistence through her experience restoring the “China House” in Brussels. She pointed out: Differences embody the value of distinctiveness. True strength lies in acknowledging one’s own limitations. She called for education to rebuild the connection between “joy” and “knowledge,” turning learning into a journey to explore the meaning of life.

Ms. Shazia Amjad, Principal of the Pakistan Embassy College Beijing, drew on her teaching experiences with students from fifty countries to affirm that “every child possesses a unique form of intelligence.” She emphasized that the essence of education is to “ensure no child is left behind,” and that the key to achieving this lies in educators shifting from a managerial mindset to a symbiotic one—viewing differences as bridges and challenges as opportunities.

Mr. Piet Steel, Founder and Honorary Chairman of Europe-Asia Center, drawing on his global experience with the Special Olympics, asserted that differences should not be grounds for social exclusion, but rather qualities to be embraced. By redefining “intellectual disability” as “intellectual developmental difference,” he demonstrated profound vision and broad-mindedness. He stated that acceptance is the starting point for cooperation, and action is the beginning of change.

Under the astute guidance of Ms. Yan Rui, Secretary-General of Europe-Asia Center, diverse civilizational voices retained their unique tones while achieving harmonious resonance—itself a vivid demonstration of cross-cultural collaboration.

The Q&A session was a vibrant and dynamic exchange, where sparks of insight flew freely. The audience engaged in in-depth discussions with the panelists on inclusive education, cross-regional collaboration, and the application of AI. Ms. Diane Hennebert, in her characteristically illuminating manner, used the metaphor of a bridge to articulate a fundamental truth: education, at its core, is about rebuilding connections and igniting intrinsic motivation. She stated that educational collaboration is like constructing a bridge—it requires concerted efforts from both sides and a mutual commitment to meet in the middle to achieve perfect alignment.

II. Redefining the Future of Education Through the Lens of Human Connection

In her closing remarks, Lilian, founder of JinShang and host of the forum, spoke with poetic resonance: “What if we measured our world not merely by GDP, but by the currency of emotion, stories, connection, and love? What future would we then build for human civilization?” She proposed a vision for a “New Silk Road”—a pathway that transcends geographical boundaries, paved to foster the growth and development of youth worldwide.

This initiative reflects the core philosophy that JinShang has always upheld: in an age of material abundance, we must safeguard spiritual values and ensure that every encounter holds the potential to change the world.

The forum concluded on a perfect note with an impromptu performance by student representatives, Kelsey from Tsinghua University’s Schwarzman College, singer Megan, and pianist Blues Lee.

Their renditions of “Sweet Honey” and the opera piece “Time to Say Goodbye” came at just the right moment, providing an emotional anchor for all the discussions on inclusion and collaboration. A moment of profound silence followed the final note, soon replaced by resounding applause—the music had ended, but its echo lingered, already transformed into poetry.
